Are you planning to tour the United Kingdom and don't know where to start? Join us as we discover the amazing locations and attractions with our guide to what we believe are the top 5 scenic self-drive tours of the UK.

Snowdonia - Wales

Snowdonia or Eryri as it's known in Welsh, is located in North Wales and attracts over 6 million visitors each year who are drawn to its stunning natural beauty. Snowdonia is the third most visited national park in England and Wales, with so much to see and do in stunning surroundings it's no wonder why.

To tour the region by car, start at Betws y Coed. Here you can stop off at the amazing Pont-y-Pair Falls before you head along the A4086 towards the Snowdon summit. Continue on the A4086, this takes you through the Pass of Llanberis on a 1,169 feet ascent into the mountains and then on to Beddgelert, right in the heart of Snowdonia.

Hardknott Pass - Cumbria

Hardknott Pass is located in the county of Cumbria in England; this pass carries the minor motor road between Eskdale and the Duddon Valley. Hardknott Pass is a single roadway that twists and turns its way through the spectacular scenery of the Lake District with a series of hairpin bends and spectacular lookout points.

The Hardknott Pass ascends up the Duddon Valley and descends to Eskdale. There's much to see and do here and you've a choice of great pubs and little restaurants along the way!

Scottish Highlands

One of the most scenic drives in Scotland has to be The Scottish Highlands. At the Scottish Highlands you can discover dramatic mountain ranges, haunting lochs and wonderful wildlife in a unique highland experience.

To tour the area from Glasgow take the A82 and then follow the A83 onto Inverary. Here there are endless miles of scenic routes with breathtaking views and not forgetting stunning landscapes.

Famous Football Landmarks in the UK!

As the birthplace of football, the UK has a large number of cities with traditions of great football. For travelers, it can be hard to choose which cities to visit. In general, cities which are home to English Premier League teams will have quality football, but even then there are too many towns to visit in one trip. To help decide which towns are worth visiting on your England Vacation, here are some of the best football cities to visit in the UK.

Manchester For many fans, Manchester United is the epitome of UK football. The club has played in Old Trafford since 1902 and has captured more English titles than any other football team, save Liverpool FC, with which they equal in number. The presence of Manchester United obviously makes the Greater Manchester area worth visiting, as it is steeped in football history. Manchester proper is home to Manchester City FC. The club suffered relegation to a lower league two times in the 1990's, but has recently become the recipient of an injection of foreign investment, and as a result has experienced an influx of high profile players. It is worthwhile to see Manchester United play Manchester City in the Manchester derby, one of UK football's fiercest rivalries. Check out hotels in Manchester.

Liverpool To the west of Manchester is Liverpool, home to both Liverpool FC and Everton FC. While Liverpool is tied for most English championships, Everton holds the honor of participating in the top level of play for a record 108 seasons. Liverpool and Everton have an old rivalry, dating back to Liverpool breaking away from Everton in 1892, which resulted in Everton vacating Liverpool's current home of Anfield. The two clubs compete in the Merseyside derby, another great place to see on your England Vacation.

More Football Locales in the UK!

London: It is hard to talk about UK football cities without mention London and the surrounding area. Home to powerhouses such as Chelsea, Fulham, Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham, the London area has an abundance of quality football for your England Vacation. Be sure to visit during Premiere League play to guarantee yourself the opportunity to see some top notch matches.

Glasgow: While much of the focus of UK football is on England, Scotland also has a rich history of great football. Glasgow is home to a particularly significant rivalry between it's most notable teams, Rangers FC and Celtic FC. Collectively, the teams are known as the Old Firm. Once marked by notorious fan violence, the rivalry has taken on a friendlier tone in recent years, thanks to efforts by both clubs.

Due to the UK's history and tradition of football, it can be difficult to choose the best football cities to visit. However, you generally can expect to find quality football where there are intense rivalries, as these generally date back many decades. Of course, this list is not comprehensive, but rather a selection of some of the best football cities the UK has to offer. If you're looking to visit any of these famous footballing cities, and need a hotel to stay in, check out hotels in Manchester and across the UK.

Gran Canaria...The Best Weather in the World

The Spanish Canary Island of Gran Canaria has much to offer holidaymakers looking for warm balmy days on pristine sandy beaches this summer.

Located off the coast of Africa and the third largest island in the Canary Islands chain, Gran Canaria is not far from Tenerife. Though it is the third largest of the islands, Gran Canaria is the most populated. But don't let that discourage you from choosing it as your holiday destination. Of the island's 230 kilometers of coastline, over 60 consist of exquisite beaches.

Tourism on the island has been increasing over the last few years. Not surprisingly large numbers of holidaymakers from the Spanish mainland return year after year. Germans and Swiss make up a big percentage of the tourist population, with more and more vacationers from Great Britain and Ireland choosing it as well. It's a terrific family holiday destination with something for everyone to enjoy.

The beaches are noted for their white sand and crystal clear waters. Especially notable are the massive Maspalomas beach with its seaside sand dunes and the marvelous hidden beach of Guigui. Las Canteras beach is located in the capital of Las Palmas and tends to be much livelier, though still family friendly.

Some holidaymakers prefer to stay put at their favorite beach, while the more adventuresome will seek out a variety of beaches during their stay.

Golf Vacations in Spain!

Media statements from Spain's tourist office reflects what avid golfers already know. The Balearic Islands are a superb place to golf. Now golf holidays on Menorca, Majorca and other Balearic islands will be highlighted throughout Europe and the UK.

The Ministry plans to infuse 180,000 euros of its tourism budget into pushing Balearic Island golf holidays. The move is in response to reports that indicate over 112,000 tourists visited the Balearic Islands two years ago to play golf. Golf holidays in the Balearic Islands are on the increase.

This is no surprise to locals, or to the many tourists who have golfed the Balearic Islands in recent years. Even the small island of Menorca stands to reap financial benefits from the new push for golf holidays in Spain. It may only be home to one golf course, but it's well worth the time for golfers to include it on their travel itineraries.

Menorca's lone course, the Golf Son Parc, is located just off of Son Parc Beach. The beach has long been one of Menorca's favourite tourist attractions, with its pristine white sand and aqua-marine waters. Players will enjoy warm ocean breezes as they make their rounds of the championship course's 18 holes.

Spain's Beautiful Beaches

When it comes to the Spanish islands, visitors are really spoiled for choice, but can't go wrong with Majorca, which is home to some of the finest beaches in the Mediterranean. Wherever travellers head across the island, from capital city Palma to the rugged outskirts, they'll find endless opportunities to relax in a deckchair or enjoy a more active break with water sport activities in the clear sea. Those looking for a lively time on their holiday are equally well catered for, with nightclubs and beach parties at the island's vibrant resorts.

Heading inland, Spain's north and south coasts are both home to some of Europe's biggest beach cities, whether holidaymakers choose to head to the Costa del Sol in the south or Barcelona in the north. Previously best known for its small local communities and traditions, the Sun Coast has exploded into a bustling seaside destination over the past few decades, making cities such as Málaga household names that are synonymous with sunny breaks.

Barcelona also holds its own as an emerging seaside destination, even if the Catalonian city tends to be seen more as a cultural destination by international visitors. The Spanish people certainly aren't in the dark when it comes to Barcelona's excellent beaches, spanning 2.5 miles of white sand on the Mediterranean coast - and thanks to extensive redevelopment of Barcelona's seafront for the 1992 Olympic Games, its beaches now attract around seven million visitors every year.

Passports and European River Cruises

Of Course, you must duly accomplish the passport applicationin order to be approved. Bear in mind, it is best to be thorough so that your European river cruise is not going to cause you trouble. You will need to pay a fee in order to apply. It is important to include payment information so that the application can be processed smoothly.

You should then mail the application to the address printed on the application and instructions listed. If you have filled out everything completely, you expect to receive the passport for your European river cruise within 4 to 6 weeks period. If you want a romantic way to see Paris, then a Seine cruise must be your choice. I'd personally recommend a European River Cruise for everyone who wants to see beautiful places in Europe.

14 December 2010

Reccommending European River Cruises

If you are planning a European river cruise journey, but a resident of the US, it will be necessary to secure a passport. While the normal identification card like your driver's license often serves as a valid proof of identification in the US, such ID and other standard IDs are not acceptable when travelling overseas. It will require approximately one month to one and half months to acquire a passport in the U.S. When planning your river cruise in Europe, it is essential to accord yourself with adequate time between starting the passport application process to boarding the water vessel. Here, I will discuss some tips on acquiring your passport quickly and easily.

The initial step to getting a passport so you can board a European river cruise is to secure a set of acceptable documents attesting to your identity. Examples of these documents include a birth certificate, or a certificate attesting to your citizenship. Next, you will want to find a business entity specializing in taking passport pictures.

It pays to produce at least 4 copies - while two are intended for the passport, a travel Visa may be necessary so it is good to have extra photographs on hand. Once you have complied with this initial requirement, you may now proceed in downloading the application form that is on the TRAVEL.STATE.GOV website.

A Typical European River Cruise

Keep in mind that different packages will attract different types of vacationers and that there are themed cruises that cater to a certain group of people. A slow-paced, educational theme may attract seniors where as a party cruise will attract young couples with no children. Mixing your European river cruise vacation with a group of people that are your exact opposite may make for a long voyage rather than the fun trip that you had envisioned.

A typical Mediterranean river cruise will include several ports of call including Barcelona, Villefranche, Rome, Naples and Florence. You will probably have an opportunity to visit all of the main tourist attractions such as Pompeii and the islands that hold the history and archeology of man's earliest civilizations. You may find yourself water skiing, shopping till you drop in Barcelona, scuba diving or playing with the rich and famous in Monte Carlo.

12 December 2010

Destination Europe!

The destination of your cruise determines much more than just the type of scenery that you will see. Cruises to the Mediterranean are well-known for their party till the sun comes up itineraries. There are also trips that are very educational and will take you to see historical and ecological wonders. Others will slowly meander through tropical waters and make leisurely stops at brilliant white beaches. The bottom line is this: You can take a cruise to any part of the world that you would like to see and do virtually anything that you want to do. But first, you have to decide on a package.

Mediterranean cruise packages are extremely popular, but you need to be careful when selecting your package since some itineraries are created with tourism in mind and others with nightlife and partying in mind. For example: Two different cruises to the Mediterranean may stop at the same ports of call but for entirely two different reasons depending on which ship you book on. The first ship might stop at Barcelona and Rome just like the second one but may feature guided tours to top tourist attractions. The second ship may avoid the tourist scene and focus instead on the culture and nightlife to be found in the area.

European River Cruises Are Really That Great!

Taking a European river cruise can be one of the most exciting vacations that you take in your lifetime. Adventure, relaxation, exploration, extravagant parties, exquisite dining, free entertainment, and eye-opening experiences are all yours to be had when you book a cruise
with Princess Cruise Lines or another popular line. A cruise vacation literally puts the world at your doorstep. Imagine being able to step out of your stateroom to a different exotic view each and every morning or being able to watch the sun set in a different port of call each evening.

The truth of the matter is that European river cruise vacations are unparalleled when it comes to providing an unforgettable experience crammed packed with more variety than you could ever believe possible from a week-long vacation. But you need to be careful when choosing your package because different destinations will provide you with completely different experiences. The size boat that you choose will also determine what types of ports that you will be able to see. As you can see, there are a lot of things to consider when choosing where to go on your the cruise of your dreams.

The Italian Riviera

At the top of the 'boot' of Italy just east of the French Riviera and you'll find the Italian Riviera. Situated on the shores of the Ligurian Sea, the Italian Riviera is glamorous but in a distinctly old-fashioned way. The rustic and provincial are blended together with the elegant and chic as cosmopolitan cities and small towns come together.

Portofino is one of the most photographed villages on the coast of the Italian Riviera. Many of Europe's wealthy visit this small harbor even though there is little to do there. And unless you are traveling on a larger budget, you may want to stay elsewhere and day-trip to Potofino. Hotels, restaurants, and cafés are very expensive ( a beer here may cost you 8 Euro!)

Genoa (or Genova in Italian) is a very busy and sprawling city, not what one might expect in this largely old and quaint Riviera. The city does however offer visitors numerous sightseeing adventures from ancient hill top fortresses to magnificent palaces.

San Remo, the largest resort in the area is also considered the capital of the Italian Riviera. It offers visitors world class hotels, and a romantic setting with its exotic gardens. And oh yes, the famous casino!

Visitors to the Italian Riviera can opt to stay in cities, towns and villages including Lerici, Santa Margherita Ligure, Portovenere, Rapallo or the villages that make up Finale Ligure. Or, visitors can stay on their European river cruise ships and explore the area on day excursions.

09 December 2010

The French Riviera

In the past, we have heard of the glamor and pizzazz of the French Riviera. Situated on the Mediterranean, The French Riviera is blessed with beautiful beaches – a pre-requisite for a 'Riviera' resort.

One of the most glamorous ports in the Mediterranean is Cannes. This world renowned port famous for the International Film Festival was once a small fishing village owned by monks.

Further up the coast, on the Bay of Angels, is the capital of the Riviera, Nice. Here one can experience some of the best restaurants. While wandering past the high-class apartments, hotels, and cafés, one can get magnificent views of the Mediterranean.

North of Nice on the Mediterranean is the municipality of Monaco. Of course, we all know the name Mont Carlo as the home of chic casinos, luxurious hotel resorts and fabulous beaches. Monte Carlo increased in stature in the 1950's when Grace Kelly became Princess Grace of Monaco after marrying Prince Ranier II.

Many of the large main European River cruise lines and smaller local European river cruise lines offer cruises that start, finish or visit ports in the French Riviera.

The Sights of a European River Cruise

Adding to the luxurious surroundings of your European river cruise cabin, you will also be gently gliding by gorgeous French chateaus, imposing German castles, brilliant tulip fields and many more stunning sites throughout the interior regions. And, when you are not enjoying the sights rolling by from your comfortable chair on the sun deck, you will have opportunities to leave the ship and savor the ambiance of the towns and villages along the river and rub shoulders with the locals.

Many people say that European river cruises are simply the best way to be introduced to the best of Europe, because you can escape the common tourist traps. Cruising European rivers is a relaxing, enjoyable, stress-free, and comfortable way to gain new insights into the history and culture of the countries, the cities and the people.

07 December 2010

Luxuries on European River Cruises

One of the advantages of a European cruise on a river is that the ships are much smaller and therefore offer a more intimate and personal experience. Most of the cruise lines that sail the watercourses of the world take particular pride in offering their passengers excellent service, often with a ratio of one staff member to every three passengers, or even less. This ensures that each and every person along for the ride has their needs promptly addressed, are well attended to and even pampered on their voyage.

Even though the overall size of the ship that will carry you on the river outing is smaller, in many cases the cabins are somewhat larger than what you would find on the giant ships. In addition, they are often outfitted with fine appointments, which are meant to cater to American tastes and demands. Some of the newer ships have full Wi-Fi internet access and recent renovations on older ships have resulted in cabins with flat screen televisions, MP3 sound systems, fine high-count linens, cashmere throws, plush bathrobes, and European touches in decor and furnishings.

Why Choose River Cruises

Most of the time when people are contemplating taking a European cruise vacation, they think about the huge liners that carry people from one exotic port to the next, or that traverse the oceans of the world. But in the last decade or so, river cruises have become more popular and are competing more and more for the attention of travelers. While there was a time when a river cruise was considered a specialty, these days choosing this type of excursion is a more mainstream option.

European river excursions are the most popular and were also the pioneers in providing interesting "off the beaten path" types of cruise vacations. There are many spectacular rivers that meander through different countries in Europe, which allows people to explore many scenic and historic areas not accessible by the large holiday ships.

These days there are river cruises in many other parts of the world from which to choose. As the river cruise ship lines discovered the increasing interest that people had in cruising on the waterways of Europe, they made efforts to expand their services into many other countries as well. This means that you now have the choice of cruising the rivers of Africa, South America and North America, as well as parts of Asia.

Important Aspects of European River Cruises

One of the most important things to travelers who go European river cruising, next to security, is comfort. A good night's sleep, and the added comfort an exquisite bed provides, is worth a little extra. Sceptre Tours offers high-quality hotel-style bedding throughout (unlike some ships with convertible sofa beds). In addition, on Sceptre Tours, guests enjoy complimentary wine, beer, or soft drinks at dinner.

While European river cruise companies generally include shore excursions, Sceptre Tours, for example, also features an epicurean adventure on most cruises, and sometimes two, providing authentic experiences at someone's home, a cooking class, or other added enriching experiences at no additional cost. Sceptre Tours provides complimentary bicycles on board. Terrain is quite flat along the rivers, and a bike ride is a great way to get some exercise and fresh air while seeing the sights.

Regardless whether a traveler books airfare with the cruise line or on their own, Sceptre Tours includes airport transfers for all guests arriving on the day of boarding or departing on the day of disembarkation. I experienced this myself recently when booking my own flight.

04 December 2010

European River Cruises Growing!

European river cruises have become all the rage, and for good reason. On a river cruise in Europe, you can enjoy the luxuries of having your hotel travel with you, and not having to check-in and check-out, or pack and unpack in each city you visit. Unlike ocean cruises, where you may have a long motorcoach ride to the city center from the seaport, Europe's cities and towns were built along its rivers, and on a European river cruise your moving hotel is usually right in the city center. Just step off and enjoy!

There are now many river boats plying Europe's rivers, and the challenge for the consumer is how to select the river cruise ship that offers the best value. As in choosing a hotel, where a Motel 6 will not provide the same vacation experience or comforts as a Sheraton, Hyatt or Ritz Carlton, choosing the right European river cruise takes some doing, especially when all those boats are over there, sight unseen. That's where an experienced travel agent can play a valuable role in helping you choose the right river cruise vacation. Travel agents can also sometimes offer special value-added savings that may not be available online or direct from the cruise line.

Many travelers are swayed to purchase the least expensive European river cruise package. Perhaps the largest of these is Sceptre Tours. While Sceptre Tours delivers good value for themoney, we're often asked what paying a bit more for a different cruise deal will get them - what the points of difference are.

Great Golfing = Ireland

Golfing fans tend to plan their vacations around their golfing, and look for the best courses around the world. There is a growing trend in packing their clubs and heading off to golf in Ireland.

You may be wondering right about now why so many are flocking to Ireland, well, they have some of the best golfing facilities in the world. There are both links and golf courses to satisfy even the most discerning of golfers.

Travel from Sligo for 8km in a north westerly direction and you will come across one of the oldest and most famous courses in the world. This is a testing course even for the most serious golfers, and lowering your score on this course is one of today's big golfing challenges.

A lot of 'golf widows' bemoan the fact that that their husbands go off playing golf while they are left at home with the kids. This isn't as issue with Sligo, the whole family can go and there is plenty of other stuff to do apart from playing golf.

A sanctuary for birds of prey is in the area, and proudly boasts that it is the biggest in Ireland. Watching these amazing birds soar and swoop is fascinating. There is also Woodville farm where the can see rare breeds of animals.

Another big attraction here is horse riding. This is a lot of fun for the whole family. A gentle trot through the countryside will show you the best that this area has to offer. If you are a more experienced rider, a gallop along the sands is truly exhilarating.

Eating out and trying new food is always a highlight of vacations in Ireland, where you are literally spoiled for choice. Fine restaurants offer both famous local cuisine as well as famous dishes from around the world. It really is a gastronomes delight.

Florence Italy: A Step Back in Time

There's no better spot in Italy for a family vacation than in Florence, Italy. Due to its rich culture, Florence holds appeal to both adults as well as children. With so many different options and sights to see, families with young children will have enough activities that no one will have time to get bored, and certainly no one on Earth can appreciate a gigantic cone of gelato more than a small child who has never tried it before.

After the fun of sightseeing has been completed, a family visiting Florence can introduce their youngsters to art and culture in one of the city's many attractions. The city of Florence rests down into the heart of Italy itself. Inside, one can be seen watching an argument between young men over the merits of an opera singer of all things! In no other country will you find such a thing! Tuscans in particular pride themselves on a vast cultural knowledge, and introducing your children to this can do a world of good for them in the future.

Your kids will have lots of fun visiting many of the best known sites in Florence, Italy with you. While hours and hours of time in museums might be a little much for little ones, a short amount of time isn't too bad at all, especially with so much of Italy's art focusing on paintings depicting sights that might even be exciting to children, with their extraordinary and otherworldly depictions of religious figures and mythical characters, alike. A good bet on the museum to explore if you are not going to get the entire primer on the Renaissance is the Galleria dell' Accademia.

For children who are more active than academic, the hiking around Florence is some of the best in Italy. Leave the museums and the other cultural attractions behind and amble up one of the famous hills that have often appeared in movies made by Italian directors. Visit Spain in the Winter!

Spain is a country placed in the south-east of Europe and next to Portugal, forming the Iberian Peninsula. Having mainly a temperate and Mediterranean climate, Spain has hot summers and cold winters. Although it is a country with few snowfalls, the biggest country in the Iberian Peninsula has many traditions regarding winter holidays and Christmas.

CHRISTMAS IN SPAIN

In this country, Christmas is really a religious holiday. The spiritual protector of Spain is the Virgin Mary, and the winter holiday season begins very early for Spanish people: it officially starts on December 8th. The Christmas Eve night is known in Spain as "Noche Buena" (the good night). The whole family gathers around the manger scene with baby Jesus. This is a scene present in most of the Spanish countries, and as a good idea for doing shopping, you can buy one for yourself as a souvenir from Spain. The preparations and food are also special. Christmas dinner s are highly influenced by the Arabic culture. In this way, the Arabs brought in the traditional dinner products like rice, oranges, or almonds. There is a specific cake, made with almonds, nuts, or dried fruits; this is one of the other dishes that cannot be absent from Spaniards' table on Christmas Eve.

A HAPPY MOMENT FOR SPANISH CHILDREN

In Spain, the Christmas presents are brought by the wise men, moving in procession of courtiers, knights and fiddlers. Spanish children receive gifts twice, during this period: on the 26th of December and on the 6th of January. On December 26th, they are given gifts by "Papa Noel" (Santa Clause), and on January 6th, they are given gifts by "Los Reyes Magos" (the three kings). On this January night, children leave their boots in front of the door, full of carrots, barely, and straw. They consider these to be gifts for the kings' horses, that are supposed to be very tired after traveling all over the country. The most beloved magician is Balthazar; he comes on a donkey and gives the children that were good and steady during the year lots of toys and sweets. To conclude, children can wait for the coming winter holidays in Spain.

CHOOSE CHRISTMAS AS A PERIOD TO VISIT SPAIN

With all these traditions, vacations to Spain increase every year during this period, all waiting to learn more about Spanish customs and to understand better the lifestyle in Spain. Behave yourself, travel to Spain this winter and be sure that Balthazar has a gift for you too.

Beer and Ireland

If you are the kind of person that delights in a good cold beer, you're in the right place. You can visit the Guinness Storehouse, where you can experience how Ireland's most famous beer came into existence. After the self-guided tour, you can head up to the Gravity Bar on the seventh floor and enjoy a free pint of Guinness. This elevated location is also a great place to get a bird's eye view of historical Dublin. There is also the Old Jameson Distillery, where you can sample some free whiskey as well!

The beer culture of Dublin, as previously stated, is definitely worth note. If you're looking for a big mug of Guinness, head to Kehoe's. This particular pub is almost a step back in time. The old wood walls and floors surround groups of people sitting around and drinking beer, laughing and talking about anything and everything. The oldest microbrewery pub is The Porterhouse. They made their own beers and stouts here, and if you're feeling a little adventurous, give the Oyster Stout a taste. This stout is made with oysters, and is supposedly very good. The Brazen Head pub is said to be the oldest in Ireland - 1000 years old.

Dublin is a place to eat and to eat a lot. If you're looking to sample some traditional Irish cuisine, head to Gallagher's Boxty House. You can find the best Italian food at Dunne & Crescenzi, as well as the best seafood at Aqua. Bobo's is famous for their incredibly juicy and delicious burgers; and The Bald Barista is a trendy coffee joint where you can get some light snacks and lunches. Chapter One is an expensive restaurant that is famous for their gourmet menu.

Is Spain the Perfect Holiday Destination?

The world's second country to receive thousands of tourists happens to be Spain. Foreigners come to have some time alone, to have fun or to relax; they find this country very beautiful and appealing. This is because Spanish Vacations have everything you would wish for in a tour or vacation, which is meant to bring you some happiness and joy.

There are numerous beautiful and relaxing beaches whose climatic conditions are friendly. Most people come to the beaches to bask in the wonderful sun as they enjoy some interesting water sports. Some of the beaches have spas and resorts that make anybody's stay here very enjoyable. Apart from all this, there are boats docking here offering cruises to the Mediterranean Sea or the Atlantic Ocean, depending on which side of Spain you are.

Water sports, such as scuba diving and surfing, are magical in the crystalline waters. Some islands have contrasting mountains in their vicinity some of which are snowy and perfect for skiing. You will also have a chance to visit some famous museums without having to leave your beach of choice.

Those looking for some time alone can find just that in lonely coves and bays on some of the Spanish islands. In short, you will find whatever you are looking for on your vacation to Spain. If you are not much of a beach person, you can consider choosing to visit cities displaying great historic monuments and art galleries. Most of the monuments are in the form of churches, cathedrals and even museums. Historic remains from the different epochs are scattered all over Spain; you just have to decide which ones you prefer to visit.

Spain also has magical rivers and valleys. There are natural parks and reserves, as well as botanical gardens. All of these have much to offer to anybody visiting the country. There are parks containing rare species of birds and plants. It is also very interesting to see wild animals in their natural, undisturbed grounds in the natural parks.

A Vacation Handbook for Dublin

Ireland is one of those places that just doesn't have a counterpart. Ireland is a multifaceted city: 35% of people in the population are 25 or under, meaning the party scene is always going, but these aren't stereotypical Rio or Cancun sorts of parties. Parties are more cultural here, with ancient pubs and music venues all around town hosting them. While the nightlife is a great reason to go, the beautiful natural landscapes are amazing, too. Just make sure you have your United States passport to get your trip started.

Ireland has an incredibly long history, and a vacation to Dublin is a very historical idea. One of the best ways to experience Dublin's history is by visiting museums. The National Gallery, the National Library, and the National Museum are very close in proximity, and they don't cost anything to see. Castles are something you don't want to miss while in Dublin either.

Definitely save some time to just walk around. This is the best way to experience Dublin like the local people do: walking the cobblestone streets, stopping for lunch at cafes, and soaking up the historical architecture that is so characteristic of Dublin. The best way to do this is to plan to visit a couple attractions, but walk to them instead of using public transportation or what not. Getting to an attraction might even turn out to be more memorable than the attraction itself.

What Does Spain have to Offer?

This award promises the area will be protected from the destruction of development. Spain has a list of valuable monuments that will keep visitors intrigued and fascinated.

Art lovers are also amazed to see the number of native artists and their contributions to their respective field. Salvador Dali is a Spanish artist who gained worldwide acclaim for his unique style. Pablo Picasso is yet another brilliant artist of Spain. Major art galleries are available in all major cities. Madrid even offers a walking tour to highlight their reverence for artistry.

Wine tasting excursions are regularly available to many of the numerous vineyards of Spain. These delicious outings can last a few hours or an entire day. Guests are welcome to join any of the day excursions throughout the countryside.

Spain's unique cuisine is also a highlight for travelers. A wealth of gourmet restaurants have various hours of operation to suit guests' convenience.

A vacation to Spain is the ultimate tourist destination for sports enthusiasts and history buffs alike. It is easy to see why so many travel to this beautiful country.

School Concert Tours in Ireland?

Teachers looking for an exciting destination for school concert tours should consider a trip to Dublin - Ireland's center of music. Boasting a wealth of historical sights and venues perfect for school performances, youngsters are sure to have a memorable and worthwhile experience.

Employing a school travel service can help teachers secure venues for performance, such as St Ann's Collage and St Patrick's Cathedral. Meanwhile, there are a number of attractions in this vibrant city that are of a historical and cultural interest to pupils.

Starting with Dublin Castle, students will be able to learn important facts about the history of the city - and Ireland as a whole. Formerly the seat of British rule in the country, the castle is a now an important center for Irish government. Although the castle dates back to the 13th century, much of it was destroyed in the 17th century and therefore most of what students will see today was built in the 1700s.

A similarly historic site is the Kilmainham Gaol - a prison-turned-museum. Most notable for imprisoning key figures in Irish rebellions, the jail was also notorious for its poor and crowded conditions.

Meanwhile, a treasure of national importance can be seen at Trinity College. It houses the Book of Kells, which dates back to 800 AD and is said to be one of the nation's most important artifacts. Written in Latin and featuring calligraphy and Insular illumination - a post-Roman British art form - the book is an astonishing work of art.

After learning about the history of the area, students will be able to perform at locations such as the bandstand at St Stephen's Green - a park in the city. They can also choose to take part in activities such as an Irish dancing evening, where they can learn some tradition steps with their peers.

Teachers can also take their pupils to Dublinia, an interactive exhibition which will help them to understand the city's history, including medieval and Viking periods. And for a treat, the nearby seaside town of Bray is a good place to finish up the trip, where students can enjoy a mile of beachfront promenade before heading home.

Get Travel Insurance for..You Guessed It...Traveling!

Mention travel insurance and you can still find a few people who admit they buy a policy before every flight as a lucky charm and they've never been in a plane crash, have they?

Superstition aside, insurance packages offer substantial benefits not just to the next of kin of ill fated passengers, but to travelers themselves and even to those who never get off the ground.

One minimal expense in spending for flight life insurance can make all the difference when you travel and encounter emergency medical needs that may not be covered by a personal health policy, this will also provide ample service should you experience a loss of or damage to your belongings on or off the plane.

This coverage will never be worthless especially in an age where 'pay before you go' is the popular mantra. Coverage that costs $3 per $100 can make all the difference when it comes to protecting your travel investment, this is because cancelled trips can lead to multiple fees for the arrangements you made beforehand.

One couple chose to pay $24 for insurance and they ended up being refunded the entire cost of their full fare tickets to Spain after missing the promotional flight they were booked on due to medical reasons.

Even if the trip was already paid for, a child getting sick caused a family of four to cancel their Florida trip, but the same coverage led to a refund.

Heart problems cost a man a set of full fare tickets amounting to the price of his entire Italy tour package when he needed to go home. Studies done on policies show that valid reasons for claims are deaths in the family and cases of accidents or illness requiring treatment. When you end up in traffic or change your mind and you miss a flight, you get nothing.

One who is familiar with fare hunting will handle insurance coverage options with much ease. Although policies are similar, their provisions and costs can be very different.
