Golfing fans tend to plan their vacations around their golfing, and look for the best courses around the world. There is a growing trend in packing their clubs and heading off to golf in Ireland.
You may be wondering right about now why so many are flocking to Ireland, well, they have some of the best golfing facilities in the world. There are both links and golf courses to satisfy even the most discerning of golfers.
Travel from Sligo for 8km in a north westerly direction and you will come across one of the oldest and most famous courses in the world. This is a testing course even for the most serious golfers, and lowering your score on this course is one of today's big golfing challenges.
A lot of 'golf widows' bemoan the fact that that their husbands go off playing golf while they are left at home with the kids. This isn't as issue with Sligo, the whole family can go and there is plenty of other stuff to do apart from playing golf.
A sanctuary for birds of prey is in the area, and proudly boasts that it is the biggest in Ireland. Watching these amazing birds soar and swoop is fascinating. There is also Woodville farm where the can see rare breeds of animals.
Another big attraction here is horse riding. This is a lot of fun for the whole family. A gentle trot through the countryside will show you the best that this area has to offer. If you are a more experienced rider, a gallop along the sands is truly exhilarating.
Eating out and trying new food is always a highlight of vacations in Ireland, where you are literally spoiled for choice. Fine restaurants offer both famous local cuisine as well as famous dishes from around the world. It really is a gastronomes delight.

Florence Italy: A Step Back in Time
There's no better spot in Italy for a family vacation than in Florence, Italy. Due to its rich culture, Florence holds appeal to both adults as well as children. With so many different options and sights to see, families with young children will have enough activities that no one will have time to get bored, and certainly no one on Earth can appreciate a gigantic cone of gelato more than a small child who has never tried it before.
After the fun of sightseeing has been completed, a family visiting Florence can introduce their youngsters to art and culture in one of the city's many attractions. The city of Florence rests down into the heart of Italy itself. Inside, one can be seen watching an argument between young men over the merits of an opera singer of all things! In no other country will you find such a thing! Tuscans in particular pride themselves on a vast cultural knowledge, and introducing your children to this can do a world of good for them in the future.
Your kids will have lots of fun visiting many of the best known sites in Florence, Italy with you. While hours and hours of time in museums might be a little much for little ones, a short amount of time isn't too bad at all, especially with so much of Italy's art focusing on paintings depicting sights that might even be exciting to children, with their extraordinary and otherworldly depictions of religious figures and mythical characters, alike. A good bet on the museum to explore if you are not going to get the entire primer on the Renaissance is the Galleria dell' Accademia.
For children who are more active than academic, the hiking around Florence is some of the best in Italy. Leave the museums and the other cultural attractions behind and amble up one of the famous hills that have often appeared in movies made by Italian directors. People will love to see the amazing views that this city has to offer. The children will also be able to run wild.

Visit Spain in the Winter!
Spain is a country placed in the south-east of Europe and next to Portugal, forming the Iberian Peninsula. Having mainly a temperate and Mediterranean climate, Spain has hot summers and cold winters. Although it is a country with few snowfalls, the biggest country in the Iberian Peninsula has many traditions regarding winter holidays and Christmas.
CHRISTMAS IN SPAIN
In this country, Christmas is really a religious holiday. The spiritual protector of Spain is the Virgin Mary, and the winter holiday season begins very early for Spanish people: it officially starts on December 8th. The Christmas Eve night is known in Spain as "Noche Buena" (the good night). The whole family gathers around the manger scene with baby Jesus. This is a scene present in most of the Spanish countries, and as a good idea for doing shopping, you can buy one for yourself as a souvenir from Spain. The preparations and food are also special. Christmas dinner s are highly influenced by the Arabic culture. In this way, the Arabs brought in the traditional dinner products like rice, oranges, or almonds. There is a specific cake, made with almonds, nuts, or dried fruits; this is one of the other dishes that cannot be absent from Spaniards' table on Christmas Eve.
A HAPPY MOMENT FOR SPANISH CHILDREN
In Spain, the Christmas presents are brought by the wise men, moving in procession of courtiers, knights and fiddlers. Spanish children receive gifts twice, during this period: on the 26th of December and on the 6th of January. On December 26th, they are given gifts by "Papa Noel" (Santa Clause), and on January 6th, they are given gifts by "Los Reyes Magos" (the three kings). On this January night, children leave their boots in front of the door, full of carrots, barely, and straw. They consider these to be gifts for the kings' horses, that are supposed to be very tired after traveling all over the country. The most beloved magician is Balthazar; he comes on a donkey and gives the children that were good and steady during the year lots of toys and sweets. To conclude, children can wait for the coming winter holidays in Spain.
CHOOSE CHRISTMAS AS A PERIOD TO VISIT SPAIN
With all these traditions, vacations to Spain increase every year during this period, all waiting to learn more about Spanish customs and to understand better the lifestyle in Spain. Behave yourself, travel to Spain this winter and be sure that Balthazar has a gift for you too.

Beer and Ireland
If you are the kind of person that delights in a good cold beer, you're in the right place. You can visit the Guinness Storehouse, where you can experience how Ireland's most famous beer came into existence. After the self-guided tour, you can head up to the Gravity Bar on the seventh floor and enjoy a free pint of Guinness. This elevated location is also a great place to get a bird's eye view of historical Dublin. There is also the Old Jameson Distillery, where you can sample some free whiskey as well!
The beer culture of Dublin, as previously stated, is definitely worth note. If you're looking for a big mug of Guinness, head to Kehoe's. This particular pub is almost a step back in time. The old wood walls and floors surround groups of people sitting around and drinking beer, laughing and talking about anything and everything. The oldest microbrewery pub is The Porterhouse. They made their own beers and stouts here, and if you're feeling a little adventurous, give the Oyster Stout a taste. This stout is made with oysters, and is supposedly very good. The Brazen Head pub is said to be the oldest in Ireland - 1000 years old.
Dublin is a place to eat and to eat a lot. If you're looking to sample some traditional Irish cuisine, head to Gallagher's Boxty House. You can find the best Italian food at Dunne & Crescenzi, as well as the best seafood at Aqua. Bobo's is famous for their incredibly juicy and delicious burgers; and The Bald Barista is a trendy coffee joint where you can get some light snacks and lunches. Chapter One is an expensive restaurant that is famous for their gourmet menu.

A Vacation Handbook for Dublin
Ireland is one of those places that just doesn't have a counterpart. Ireland is a multifaceted city: 35% of people in the population are 25 or under, meaning the party scene is always going, but these aren't stereotypical Rio or Cancun sorts of parties. Parties are more cultural here, with ancient pubs and music venues all around town hosting them. While the nightlife is a great reason to go, the beautiful natural landscapes are amazing, too. Just make sure you have your United States passport to get your trip started.
Ireland has an incredibly long history, and a vacation to Dublin is a very historical idea. One of the best ways to experience Dublin's history is by visiting museums. The National Gallery, the National Library, and the National Museum are very close in proximity, and they don't cost anything to see. Castles are something you don't want to miss while in Dublin either.
Definitely save some time to just walk around. This is the best way to experience Dublin like the local people do: walking the cobblestone streets, stopping for lunch at cafes, and soaking up the historical architecture that is so characteristic of Dublin. The best way to do this is to plan to visit a couple attractions, but walk to them instead of using public transportation or what not. Getting to an attraction might even turn out to be more memorable than the attraction itself.

School Concert Tours in Ireland?
Teachers looking for an exciting destination for school concert tours should consider a trip to Dublin - Ireland's center of music. Boasting a wealth of historical sights and venues perfect for school performances, youngsters are sure to have a memorable and worthwhile experience.
Employing a school travel service can help teachers secure venues for performance, such as St Ann's Collage and St Patrick's Cathedral. Meanwhile, there are a number of attractions in this vibrant city that are of a historical and cultural interest to pupils.
Starting with Dublin Castle, students will be able to learn important facts about the history of the city - and Ireland as a whole. Formerly the seat of British rule in the country, the castle is a now an important center for Irish government. Although the castle dates back to the 13th century, much of it was destroyed in the 17th century and therefore most of what students will see today was built in the 1700s.
A similarly historic site is the Kilmainham Gaol - a prison-turned-museum. Most notable for imprisoning key figures in Irish rebellions, the jail was also notorious for its poor and crowded conditions.
Meanwhile, a treasure of national importance can be seen at Trinity College. It houses the Book of Kells, which dates back to 800 AD and is said to be one of the nation's most important artifacts. Written in Latin and featuring calligraphy and Insular illumination - a post-Roman British art form - the book is an astonishing work of art.
After learning about the history of the area, students will be able to perform at locations such as the bandstand at St Stephen's Green - a park in the city. They can also choose to take part in activities such as an Irish dancing evening, where they can learn some tradition steps with their peers.
Teachers can also take their pupils to Dublinia, an interactive exhibition which will help them to understand the city's history, including medieval and Viking periods. And for a treat, the nearby seaside town of Bray is a good place to finish up the trip, where students can enjoy a mile of beachfront promenade before heading home.

Get Travel Insurance for..You Guessed It...Traveling!
Mention travel insurance and you can still find a few people who admit they buy a policy before every flight as a lucky charm and they've never been in a plane crash, have they?
Superstition aside, insurance packages offer substantial benefits not just to the next of kin of ill fated passengers, but to travelers themselves and even to those who never get off the ground.
One minimal expense in spending for flight life insurance can make all the difference when you travel and encounter emergency medical needs that may not be covered by a personal health policy, this will also provide ample service should you experience a loss of or damage to your belongings on or off the plane.
This coverage will never be worthless especially in an age where 'pay before you go' is the popular mantra. Coverage that costs $3 per $100 can make all the difference when it comes to protecting your travel investment, this is because cancelled trips can lead to multiple fees for the arrangements you made beforehand.
One couple chose to pay $24 for insurance and they ended up being refunded the entire cost of their full fare tickets to Spain after missing the promotional flight they were booked on due to medical reasons.
Even if the trip was already paid for, a child getting sick caused a family of four to cancel their Florida trip, but the same coverage led to a refund.
Heart problems cost a man a set of full fare tickets amounting to the price of his entire Italy tour package when he needed to go home. Studies done on policies show that valid reasons for claims are deaths in the family and cases of accidents or illness requiring treatment. When you end up in traffic or change your mind and you miss a flight, you get nothing.
One who is familiar with fare hunting will handle insurance coverage options with much ease. Although policies are similar, their provisions and costs can be very different.
